Halutzim Hat
The Halutzim were the early settlers of Israel. By the labor of their hands, the Land of Israel was renewed. After WW II, many settlers followed. Countless orphaned children, victims of the Holocaust, were among the pioneers. The kibbutz, a collective farm or settlement, became their home where all the children were reared communally. Men, women, and children wore the Halutzim Hats for protection from the sun, rain, and wind.
As we wear the Halutzim Hats, we remember Gods great love for the Land of Israel and the Jewish people. Our love to worship God through dance cannot be divorced from our love for Israel and the Jewish people.
